Vayia Ellsworth (née Papanicolaou) is a partner of Templeman Menninga LLP and is head of the Firm`s Family Law Department.
Vayia attended Queen’s University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with Honours. She then continued her studies at the University of Akron were she obtained her law degree and Masters of Business Administration. While at the University of Akron, Vayia won awards in numerous national and international moot court competitions, including the prestigious Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot held annually in Vienna, Austria.
Vayia is known for effectively representing clients with all manner of Family Law issues, including:
* Separation and divorce;
* Child custody and access;
* Child support and spousal support;
* Division of property matters;
* Preparation of domestic contracts such as marriage contracts and separation agreements; and
Vayia regularly appears before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, and the Ontario Court of Justice. She has also argued cases before the Ontario Court of Appeal.
She is active in the community and is a member of the Board of Directors of the YMCA for Central East Ontario (Belleville, Peterborough and Trenton).
Vayia is bilingual in English and Greek.

A native of Picton, Vayia`s parents were the owners of a small business that required repeat customers and referrals by those customers. This taught her the importance of valuing all of her clients, whether big or small. She knows that her current clients are her best source for future business.
Vayia truly appreciates and understands that her clients often come to her at the most stressful time of their lives. Although they are facing a lot of uncertainties, Vayia guides her client`s through the legal process to achieve the best possible outcome. She cares about her clients and it shows. Before joining Templeman Menninga LLP in 2007, Vayia practiced law as a State Prosecuting Attorney for the Ohio Department of Children’s Services. This gave her tremendous exposure to complex child and family legal issues as well as a wealth of in-court experience. Vayia is known among judges and her peers to be an extremely strong courtroom advocate.
