Whenever you “feel for your children,” double-check about whether you are “projecting” your own feelings and concerns onto them. If you are concerned that your child is feeling abandoned, hurt, scared, or even lonely check to make sure it isn’t you who is feeling these emotions. Its’s totally normal to have these (and many other) emotions during the course of a divorce but you need to deal with your feelings first. Only then will you be able to help your children.
